Waste Management (WM)

Two of your live SkillBridge postings, read against what your screen can and can’t verify.

This is your own posting text, nothing added. Your Renewable Natural Gas plant roles screen on electrical knowledge and years — while describing a job that runs on judgment and leadership no certificate covers.

Role 1 — Operations Manager

The requirements are electrical and experiential. The responsibilities are judgment and leadership under no supervision.

Overview of the ProgramThe purpose of this internship is to provide interns with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to transition to full time employment as a WM Renewable Natural Gas Plant Manager. The incumbent for this position should expect to be a hands-on technician in addition to management responsibilities. Interns will receive a combination of hands on, classroom style and computer-based training which will enable them to manage the Landfill Gas to Renewable Natural Gas "RNG" Facility and to maximize production, while ensuring safe work practices, environmental compliance, timely maintenance, compliance with contracts, and coordination with the landfill management and operations. This role acts as a plant owner and is available whenever necessary to meet the objectives of the role and the needs of the facility. An RNG Facility takes landfill gas and converts it to a Natural Gas Quality that is injected into the pipeline for household and commercial use. The RNG Plant Manager will be required to operate and maintain equipment such as specialty gas processing equipment, gas compressors, and H2S removal systems, Nitrogen Removal Unit, and Pressure Swing Absorber. (Note: The objective of the program is to provide full time employment to all interns who meet training objectives and receive positive performance appraisals.

The requirements are electrical; the job is leadership

Every role has a technical layer — the AC/DC circuit knowledge, the plant-maintenance years. Your screen verifies it, and a 91C or 12P maps onto it well.

But both postings describe the actual work as a durable layer: sound judgment with no supervision, leading third-party vendors, running a plant. Those aren’t in the requirement list as anything measurable — they’re in the responsibilities, taken on faith.

A plant manager who can diagnose a DC circuit but can’t hold immediate judgment under a compliance failure is the expensive kind of wrong. The certificate confirms the first and says nothing about the second.

Your screen confirms a candidate can diagnose the circuit. It says nothing about whether they can run the plant — the judgment and leadership your own responsibilities are built on — and that’s the part that decides the role.

That gap matters more under the 75% offer commitment SkillBridge providers carry: you’re promoting fellows into plant leadership on a read of their electrical knowledge alone. That second layer is what PowerTechs measures.

See it across all your roles

This is two of your postings. In 20 minutes I’ll walk you through the same read across your RNG roles — where the durable requirements sit, and how you’d see them in a candidate before you commit a slot. No cost, no pitch attached.
