One of your live SkillBridge postings, read against what your postings screen for.

This is your own posting text, nothing added. The Diesel Technician role is a clean trade — and the parts that decide whether a technician works out on a road call are exactly the parts the screen can’t see.

The role

Diesel Technician. Real mechanical skill, and a job that depends on unsupervised judgment and safety discipline.

Two layers, and the road call runs on the invisible one

The Diesel Technician role has a technical layer — diesel repair, DOT-standard maintenance. A screen tests it, and a military vehicle mechanic maps onto it almost exactly. That match is real.

It also has a durable layer — working safely and effectively on a road call with no supervisor watching, promoting safety in every action, staying current on regulations without being told. Your posting names “without supervision” directly. Nothing on the screen measures whether a candidate holds up there.

A transitioning service member usually has exactly that unsupervised discipline built in — it’s a large part of what military maintenance work is. It’s also the part your screen can’t see, which means the strongest thing they bring is invisible at the moment you’re deciding.

The screen confirms a candidate can do the diesel repair. Whether they hold safety and judgment on an unsupervised road call — which your posting names directly — is the part it can’t read, and that’s the part the job depends on.

That gap matters more under the 75% offer commitment SkillBridge providers carry: you’re hosting on a read of mechanical skill alone, with no read on the unsupervised judgment your posting calls for. That second layer is what PowerTechs measures.
