Two of your live SkillBridge postings, read against what your screen can and can’t verify.

This is your own posting text, nothing added. You target specific MOSs precisely — 12A and 12B combat engineers into construction management. The technical match is clean. What decides success is a layer the MOS match doesn’t touch.

Role 1 — where the MOS match is perfect

Project Manager, Fort Leonard Wood. A combat engineer maps straight to the technical work — and the job is really about leading people.

A perfect MOS match still leaves the deciding layer unmeasured

You do the technical match better than most — you name the exact MOSs. A 12B combat engineer maps cleanly onto construction management. That’s the technical layer, and you’ve nailed it.

But the Project Manager posting opens with “great with people… managing teams that get the job done.” That’s the durable layer — leadership, prioritization, client judgment. The MOS match guarantees none of it. Two 12Bs with identical records can be worlds apart here.

That’s the limit of matching: it gets you a candidate whose background fits. Whether they can lead the team and hold the client relationship is a different question, and the MOS code doesn’t answer it.

Your occupational match is as clean as it gets — and it still can’t tell you which of two identically-qualified engineers will actually lead the project. The MOS confirms the background. It doesn’t read the layer the job opens by asking for.

That gap matters more under the 75% offer commitment SkillBridge providers carry: even a perfect MOS match leaves you hosting on faith in the durable layer. That layer is what PowerTechs measures.
